Burrawurra Pty Ltd (ABN 82 624 538 932, trading as Consultant Café) (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit consultantcafe.com, subscribe to our newsletters, buy from our Shop, take our online courses, attend our Café Shot Master Classes, or otherwise deal with us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where it applies to you, the EU/UK GDPR.

●      What we collect: your name, email, shipping address (for physical orders), payment details (handled by Stripe and PayPal), course progress and results, and analytics data. We don’t collect sensitive information.

●      How we use it: to run subscriptions and the Shop, deliver digital downloads, post physical orders, deliver online courses and mark exams, send newsletters, invite eligible subscribers to Café Shot Master Classes, run and record those sessions, and market our own services (with an easy opt-out).

●      Café Shot: we use the email you gave us to invite you to Master Classes you’re eligible for — including by email outside Ghost. Sessions run on Microsoft Teams and are recorded, and recordings may be shared with subscribers.

●      Courses & exams: our online exams are simple quizzes — no webcam or ID monitoring — and we don’t report your individual results to your employer.

●      Who we share with: trusted service providers only (such as Ghost, Payhip, Stripe, PayPal, Microsoft, Bigin, Xero and Google Analytics). Some store data overseas. We never sell or rent your personal information.

●      Advertising: we may use tracking pixels and email-list “matched audiences” on platforms like LinkedIn, Reddit and Instagram to show and measure our ads. You can control this (see below).

●      How long we keep it: while you’re subscribed or dealing with us, and a little longer where the law requires (for example tax records).

●      Your rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out — plus how to complain to us and to the OAIC.

1. Who we are

Consultant Café is operated by Burrawurra Pty Ltd, an Australian company trading as Consultant Café. We are the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us at admin@consultantcafe.com.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

●      Identity and contact details — your name and email address.

●      Shipping details — if you order a physical item (such as our consulting cards), the delivery name and postal address you provide, so we can post your order.

●      Account and subscription details — your membership tier, plan, and activity such as content accessed and purchases.

●      Course and assessment information — if you take one of our online courses, your progress through the course, your answers to quizzes and exams, your scores, pass/fail results, completion status, and any certificate details.

●      Payment details — processed securely by Stripe and PayPal. Your card details are handled directly by them under their own security standards; we do not collect or store your full card number.

●      Employer/corporate-provided details — for a Corporate Special Blend subscription, your employer nominates the staff to be added and may provide their work email addresses.

●      Business contacts from third-party or public sources — for business-to-business marketing, we may collect business contact details (such as name, role, employer and business email) from public or professional sources, including LinkedIn, to contact you about Consultant Café.

●      Live session information — when you join a Café Shot Master Class on Microsoft Teams, we process your display name and email, and — because sessions are recorded — your voice, image (if your camera is on) and chat messages may be captured (see clause 5).

●      Analytics and device data — such as IP address, device type and browsing behaviour, collected via Google Analytics, Ghost Analytics, Payhip Analytics and cookies.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health, racial or political information). Please do not send us sensitive information unless we specifically ask for it.

3. How we collect your information

●      Directly from you — when you subscribe, create an account, buy from the Shop, complete checkout on Payhip, take a course, register for or attend a Café Shot Master Class, respond to a survey, or contact us.

●      Automatically — through cookies and similar technologies when you use our site (see clause 11).

●      From your employer — where an organisation subscribes on your behalf under a Corporate Special Blend subscription.

●      From third-party and public sources — such as LinkedIn, for business-to-business outreach. If we contact you this way, we will tell you how we got your details and give you an easy way to opt out.

●      From our service providers — for example payment confirmations from Stripe or PayPal, or delivery information.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

●      provide and manage the website, your subscription, the Shop, and access to content;

●      deliver digital downloads and fulfil and post physical orders;

●      deliver online courses, mark quizzes and exams, track your progress, and issue certificates of completion (see clause 6);

●      process payments and manage billing and invoicing;

●      run, record and share Café Shot Master Classes with eligible subscribers (see clause 5);

●      send you newsletters, updates, surveys and offers relating to Consultant Café, and invite eligible subscribers to Café Shot Master Classes — including by email sent outside the Ghost platform;

●      carry out business-to-business marketing to prospective corporate customers (with an opt-out);

●      understand and improve our services through analytics; and

●      meet our legal, accounting, tax and record-keeping obligations.

5. Café Shot Master Class — invitations and recordings

Invitations. If you are a subscriber who is eligible to attend a Café Shot Master Class, we use the email address you provided to invite you. These invitations may be sent by email outside the Ghost platform (for example via Microsoft Outlook). They relate to Consultant Café, and you can opt out at any time (see clause 7).

Recordings. Café Shot Master Classes run on Microsoft Teams and are recorded, and recordings may be shared with our subscribers. If you join a session, your display name — and, if you speak, turn on your camera, or type in the chat, your voice, image and messages — may be captured in the recording. If you would prefer not to appear, you can keep your camera and microphone off, use a display name, avoid the chat, or watch a shared recording afterwards instead. We use recordings to deliver the session and make it available to eligible subscribers; we do not publish them publicly.

6. Online courses, exams and certificates

When you buy or take one of our online courses through the Shop (Payhip), we collect information about your participation — including your progress through the course, your answers to quizzes and exams, your scores and pass/fail results, and your completion status. We use this to deliver the course, mark your assessments, show you your results, provide support, and — where a course includes one — issue a certificate of completion showing your name.

Our exams are simple online quizzes. We do not use webcam proctoring, screen recording, identity verification or any similar monitoring to supervise them, and we do not collect biometric or other sensitive information for assessments. Please do not include sensitive information in free-text answers.

Your results are your own. We do not report your individual course or exam results to your employer, including under a Corporate Special Blend subscription. We keep assessment and certificate records only for as long as we reasonably need them — for example to evidence your completion, re-issue a certificate, or handle a query or dispute — after which we delete or de-identify them (see clause 13).

7. Direct marketing and your choices

We send marketing communications — including newsletters, offers and Café Shot invitations — in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email includes an easy way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or emailing admin@consultantcafe.com. If we contact a business prospect using details obtained from a third-party or public source, we will identify ourselves and provide an opt-out. Even after you opt out of marketing, we may still send you necessary service or transactional messages (for example about your subscription, a purchase, or this policy).

8. Advertising and analytics

We advertise Consultant Café on third-party platforms, which currently include LinkedIn, Reddit and Instagram. To run and measure these ads, we and those platforms may use cookies, tracking pixels and similar technologies on our site, and we may share a hashed (non-readable) version of your email address with a platform so it can match you to your account there and show you our ads, or reach similar audiences (often called “custom” or “matched” audiences). These platforms act as independent controllers of the information they hold and process it under their own privacy policies.

You can limit this through the ad-preference settings on each platform, your browser’s cookie controls, and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build profiles of you to sell to third parties.

9. Who we share your information with

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run Consultant Café, and only as needed for the purposes above. These currently include:

●      Ghost — website, subscription management and newsletters;

●      Payhip — shop, course and assessment platform, and delivery of digital downloads;

●      Stripe — payment processing (subscriptions and one-off purchases);

●      PayPal — payment processing (one-off purchases);

●      Microsoft (Outlook and Teams) — email communications and delivery/recording of live sessions;

●      Bigin by Zoho (CRM) — managing corporate leads, subscribers and contacts;

●      Xero — invoicing and accounting records;

●      Google Analytics, Ghost Analytics and Payhip Analytics — site and shop insights;

●      advertising platforms (LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram) — advertising and audience matching (see clause 8); and

●      our professional advisers, and government or law-enforcement bodies where we are required or authorised by law to disclose information.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

10. Sending information overseas

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate (for example Stripe, PayPal, Ghost, Payhip, Google, Microsoft and Zoho/Bigin). Where we disclose your information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites function, remember your preferences, and provide analytics. We use:

●      Essential cookies — required for the website and subscription service to work (for example logging in and keeping sessions active);

●      Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site (Google Analytics, Ghost Analytics, Payhip Analytics);

●      Preference cookies — remember your settings, such as login details; and

●      Advertising cookies and pixels — set by us or by advertising platforms (LinkedIn, Reddit, Instagram) to show and measure our ads (see clause 8).

You can control or delete cookies via your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using the opt-out browser add-on. If you disable essential cookies, some parts of the site may not work properly. We do not use cookies to build profiles of you for sale to third parties.

12. Data security

We protect personal information using the security measures of our providers (including encryption in transit via HTTPS, access controls and reputable hosting) and by limiting access to those who need it. No online service can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

13. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it: for the duration of your subscription or relationship with us, and afterwards where we are required to keep records — for example financial and tax records, which Australian law generally requires us to keep for around seven years. We keep course completion and certificate records for as long as we reasonably need them to evidence your completion or re-issue a certificate. When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

14. Your rights and choices

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles — and, where it applies, the EU/UK GDPR — you can ask us to:

●      access the personal information we hold about you;

●      correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date;

●      delete it (where we are not required to keep it);

●      provide a copy in a portable form;

●      opt out of direct marketing; and

●      withdraw consent (for example, unsubscribe).

To exercise any of these, email admin@consultantcafe.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time required by law.

15. Complaints

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first at admin@consultantcafe.com so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992. If the GDPR applies to you, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

16. Data breaches

If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.

17. Children’s privacy

Consultant Café is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

18. Governing law and jurisdiction

This policy is governed by Australian law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), unless local consumer or privacy protection laws that apply to you provide otherwise.

19. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
