Consultant Café brews a new kind of learning culture for consultants — one that puts people before titles

Editor’s Note: In a profession known for pace and pressure, former Partner Kim Moeller is quietly building something different — a space where consultants can learn, reflect, and grow. His new platform, Consultant Café, blends practical experience with human insight to help early-career consultants build meaningful, sustainable careers.

In less than twelve weeks since its quiet launch, Consultant Café, the independent consulting learning platform founded by former Partner Kim Moeller, is already resonating deeply across the consulting community. Its message is simple but powerful: imagine a consulting world where success is defined by becoming the best version of yourself — not by title, billable hours, or how long you’ve been around.

Kim, who spent over two decades building contracting and consulting practices across Big 4, mid-tier, and boutique firms, describes Consultant Café as the “living version of the book I always wanted to write.” It’s a space for consultants and project professionals to learn the things no one hands you in onboarding; how to build confidence, sharpen your consulting craft, and create a career that lasts.

“I started Consultant Café to share the lessons I learned the hard way,” says Kim. “It’s for consultants who’ve felt that quiet doubt about their value or the pressure to constantly prove themselves. My mission is to help them turn those doubts into strengths — and those strengths into career superpowers.”

A Big Vision, Humbly Begun

Though Consultant Café is less than 12 weeks old, Kim has been humbled by the response from across the industry. “The support has been extraordinary,” he says. “There’s a hunger for something more human in consulting, a space where growth isn’t about hierarchy, but about craft, character, and contribution.”

What makes the story even more compelling is that Consultant Café is Kim’s passion project, which he pursues alongside his independent consulting work. He admits he’s learning as he goes: “I’m making plenty of mistakes — probably more than I’d like — but the audience doesn’t seem to mind. Not as much as I do, anyway.”

“It’s early days,” he adds, “but I’ve always believed in starting small and building something genuine, like the little red engine that could.” His ambition is clear: to establish Consultant Café in Australia, then take it global — to the UK, Europe, and the US, “the spiritual homes of consulting.”

Corporate Special Blend — A New Way for Firms to Invest in Their People

Consultant Café recently launched its Corporate Special Blend, a subscription designed for consulting firms that want to sustainably scale learning across their teams with insider knowledge and real-world experience.

The model is refreshingly simple: one corporate subscription unlocks full access to Consultant Café’s tools, frameworks, and resources for an entire team, supported by monthly interactive “Café Shot” sessions that turn consulting challenges into live, guided learning.

Early adopters include EOLAS Solutions, which subscribed its entire workforce as part of its professional development program.

“EOLAS’s decision humbled me,” says Moeller. “Pat O’Niel and his team saw this not as another training product but as a way to invest in curiosity, collaboration, and confidence. That’s what good leadership looks like.”

A Vision for the Consulting Profession

Kim’s mission is simple but far-reaching:

“I’m here to help consultants build sustainable consulting careers that last — to help them find their real strengths, sharpen their craft, grow their commercial acumen, and discover the joy in what they do. When consultants thrive, firms and clients thrive too.”

It’s a bold but humble aspiration — to change the consulting conversation from proving yourself to improving yourself, from burnout to belonging, and from titles to craft.
